Mr. Ron Fountain

Advisory Board Member

President, Intercontinental Capital Group

Mr. Fountain understands the complexities of successful operations, employee motivation, financial stability, risk management and strategic initiatives in a wide range of industries. He has an extensive and successful background in all aspects of corporate transactions, risk management, fiscal responsibility and general management. He served most recently as President, Intercontinental Capital Group. He previously served as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer as Pacific Union Financial and was a Managing Director at JP Morgan Chase. He has the foundation of both a CPA and a Lawyer and brings a unique vantage point to business management.

For the past ten years, Mr. Fountain focused on the mortgage and financial services industries, which has afforded an opportunity to deepen my experience in distressed corporate management, rapid growth and extremely dynamic environments with great success. As private company growth increased through opportunity in the financial markets and the exit of banks from the mortgage sector, he supported many platform and asset acquisitions, restructured several businesses, including insurance agencies, collection agencies, property management and investment companies and completed the issuance of private and public debt prior to launching initial public offerings.

The period of retraction prior to the growth was equally daunting and rapid with the divestiture of operating segments, facilities and human resource support related to extensive layoffs and reorganizations. Mr. Fountain was an integral part of a significant turnaround of a mortgage company that resulted in a viable public entity, taking financial results from an annual net loss of $400MM to net income of $65MM over a three year period through participation in acquisitions and expense management.  He headed risk management for several financial product channels of a Fortune 100 national bank.  He have reengineered a $20B mortgage servicing platform, developed the overall risk framework, and managed several transactional opportunities for a full-service, multi-channel private lender with $14B in annual production in preparation for a private offering with registration rights.

Mr. Fountain’s previous years of management and finance/accounting experience in many sectors, including hospitality, real estate, mortgage and medical. He had practiced with international law firms in several areas of law and business including transactional, real estate, employment, bankruptcy, secured lending, creditor rights, intellectual property, structured and asset finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities, litigation management, hospitality and private equity across all spectrums of industries. He mastered new industry challenges and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, while bringing innovative thought and dedication through resourceful solutions to achieve organizational goals while mitigating risk. His diverse background allows for vision into success and application of all facets of skills to obtain the best possible results that are correlated to an organization’s fiscal success.
